A native of Hanover, Germany, Henry Schelper (1844-1928) immigrated to the United States in 1870, eventually settling in San Antonio, Texas. He married Austrian Magdalena Schneider (1847-1936) around 1871; the couple had six children. The Schelper Family Papers contain letters, receipts, legal documents, and printed material. Henry Schelper was born in Hanover, Germany, on 1844 July 21. In 1870, he immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in San Antonio, Texas. Around 1871, he married Magdalena Schneider, who was born in Austria on 1846 November 28. The couple had six children: Henry, Paulina, Max, Anna, Emma, and Erna.
